Heat-resistant silicone resin KO-049 is a solution of polymethylphenylsiloxane resin in xylene or toluene.
KO-049 silicone resin is a binder for the heat-resistant cold-drying enamels production (for example, KO-822 enamel, KO-828 enamel) to protect equipment and parts that operates for a long time at temperatures up to +300°С - +400°С.
Examples of the enamels application produced using silicone resin KO-049:
Enamel KO-822 is designed for painting (without pre-priming) parts made of steel, titanium, aluminum alloys heated during processing. The heat resistance of the coating is up to +300°С. Coating enamel KO-822 can withstand the effects of gasoline, kerosene, synthetic oils.
Enamel KO-828 (silver colored, aluminum pigment contained) is intended for painting (without pre-priming) parts made of steel with phosphated and non-phosphated surfaces, which are heated during processing, for painting automobile silencers also. The heat resistance of the coating is up to +400°С. The enamel coating KO-828 is resistant to the alternating effects of heating and water, to the effects of salt fog and has a high resistance to water.
Surface preparation: remove dust, dirt, iron oxide, rust, grease and other contamination (metal surface should be cleaned at least to grade St3 or Sa 21/2, in accordance with the International Standard ISO 8501), de-dust and degrease with organic solvents.
Application of enamel KO-822:
Apply 2-3 layers of the enamel by air or airless spraying. Dry each layer at a temperature +18°C - +23°C for 2 hours. Apply next layer after previous is completely dried. After 2 hours since the last layer laid on, dry additionally at a temperature +200°C - +250°C within 2 hours (drying at temperature +18°C - +23°C is permissible too, but in this case the enamel coating will be not resistant to gasoline, kerosene, synthetic oils). Recommended thickness of each layer is 12-15 microns at total thickness of the whole coating not exceeding 50 microns.
Application of enamel KO-828:
Enamel is applied in 2 layers by air spraying or spraying in an electrostatic field. Dry each layer at a temperature +18°C - +23°C for 2 hours. Apply next layer after previous is completely dried. After 2 hours since the last layer laid on, dry the coating additionally at a temperature +130°C within 30 minutes. Recommended thickness of coating is 22-28 microns. The temperature of the ambient air, enamel and surface during application should be not more than +35°C, the relative humidity of the air max. 80%, but at least 3°C higher, than the dew point of the air.
Store in a sealed container at a temperature from -30°С to +35°С. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place, away from heaters, protected from moisture and direct sunlight.
The guaranteed shelf life in original container is 6 months.
Storage over the date specified on the label does not necessarily mean the product is unusable. In case if store more please check the properties of product before use.
Steel barrels up to 200 liters.
The product is flammable; please follow fire safety instructions during work. The polymerized varnish film is nontoxic, fire-proof.
