Hydrophobic silicone liquids GKZH-11K & GKZH-11N

Application

1. Surface hydrophobization is the treatment of porous mineral building materials with a water-repellent liquid (impregnation) on their surface with a brush or spray to impart moisture resistance, protect walls, facades, foundations, roofing and floor surfaces made of concrete, brick, ceramics, asbestos cement. the service life of buildings and structures, since the surface treated with a water-repellent liquid practically does not absorb water and is not polluted by precipitation.

Surface hydrophobization of coatings with water-repellent impregnation GKZH-11K is effective for 4-5 years.

It is recommended to re-treat with GKZH-11 solutions every 3-5 years.

Brickwork, wall panels, cement-concrete screeds (floors), limestone, cellular stone, slate, tiles, plaster, paving slabs are subject to finishing.

The use of GKZH-11 protects against the appearance of a salt trace (efflorescence) on the surface.

Surface Preparation:  Remove loose particles that are not bonded to the substrate, remove dust and other contaminants. It is recommended to clean the surface with high pressure washers, steam cleaner, water jet or mechanically. After wet cleaning, allow the surface to dry. It is recommended to apply on a dry, clean, dust-free surface.

Preparation of working solution:

Prepare in the amount required for 1-2 hours of work, at the rate of 55 ml of water-repellent liquid GKZH-11K per 1 liter of water or 100 ml of water-repellent liquid GKZH-11N per 1 liter of water.

If you need to keep working solutions longer (3-4 days), they should be placed in a well-sealed glass or plastic container.

Application

Hydrophobic impregnation GKZH-11 in the form of a solution is applied to a dry, cleaned surface until absorption stops, avoiding smudges, leaving no drops. It is impossible to carry out work on the hydrophobization of walls during rain, as well as after rain until the textured layer dries. In case of uneven coverage obtained after liquid treatment, or application on a porous surface, the treatment should be repeated, but only immediately after applying the first layer, that is, on a still wet surface. In the event that immediately after the completion of work it rained, the hydrophobization of the surface should also be repeated.

Works should be carried out at a temperature not lower than +5°C.

Violation of the specified technology for the preparation and use of the working solution, repeated processing of the dried layer, excess solution can lead to the appearance of white spots on the treated surface.

Application methods

Water-repellent impregnation GKZH-11 is applied to the surface with a brush, roller or spray.

Material consumption  on a flat surface:

The consumption of the working solution GKZH-11 depends on the porosity of the processed material and averages 350 ml per 1 m  ²  .

2. Volumetric hydrophobization  is the imparting of moisture-resistant properties to building materials by introducing a hydrophobic additive directly into the cement paste (concrete) in the production of building materials, plaster, foundations, etc.

Additive GKZH-11 to the solution for volumetric hydrophobization is introduced in the preparation of plaster, cement, concrete mortars, in the production of asphalt and bituminous mixtures, while performing a number of other functions:

• hydrophobic additive GKZH-11K, GKZH-11N in concrete reduces water absorption and permeability, eliminates capillary suction;
• GKZH-11 is a water-reducing additive in concrete, which reduces the water consumption for mortar by 1.5 times;
• GKZH-11 is a bridging additive that increases the water permeability grade of concrete;
• GKZH-11 - plasticizer of II, III, IV groups for concrete;
• GKZH-11 - an additive that increases the strength of concrete, plaster and screed;
• GKZH-11 - an additive that increases the frost resistance of normal hardening concrete and asphalt concrete coatings, regardless of their composition and type of binder (antifreeze additives for concrete);
• GKZH-11 neutralizes acids contained in solutions.

Water-repellent liquid GKZH-11 is introduced into the solution together with water in an amount of 0.1-0.2% by weight of the binder cement or lime.
