Fields of application

Manufacture of paint and varnish coatings:

• Varnishes and paints with good adhesion to glass.
• Component for the nonstick paints preparation.
• As a binder component in heat-resistant, chemically and weather-resistant coatings and in other areas where, after hydrolysis in an alkaline medium, drying or firing, it is required to obtain a strong, solid material that is insoluble in water, resistant to high temperatures and not corrosive.
• Ethyl silicate-28 is used as a modifying additive in enamel (additive in paints). It forms fast-drying, heat-resistant and waterproof films with a low degree of shrinkage and stable gloss.
• As a modifying additive to parquet lacquers and varnishes, it reduces the time of preparation and drying, while reducing the consumption of natural oil, improving the quality of the film.
• Ethyl silicate-28 additive to urea-formaldehyde varnishes reduces the consumption of varnish, increases the varnish viability in a mixture with a hardener about 10 times.
• It is used to quickly increase the hardness of rosin varnish on highly polymerized oil, glass varnish, alkyd resin solutions.

Polymer additive:

• For the manufacturing of films, packaging - provides transparency, creates a "gas barrier" in food packaging (i.e., products in the packaging, produced using Ethylsilicate-28 additive retain their freshness longer and the shelf life increases).
• A crosslinking agent for silicone rubbers.

Chemical industry:

• Ethylsilicate-28 is a source of the finest amorphous silica (pure reactive silica) and TEOS of high purity.
• Reagent for organic synthesis.
• Dehydrating agent.

Metallurgy / Engineering:

• Ethyl silicate-28 is used as a source material for obtaining a binder in the foundry industry for the ceramic casting molds manufacturing (investment casting technology, casting in ceramic molds).
• A binder for the manufacture of rods exposed to high temperatures.
• Superhard alloys parts, that are difficult to stamp, roll and forge, are made using Ethyl silicate additive.

Building sector:

• As glue, for impregnation of porous materials.
• Ingredient for the hydrophobic agents manufacturing.
• Weather-resistant hydrophobic building materials production.
• Wood impregnating to make it bacteria resistant.

Ceramic products manufacturing:

• Binder in the manufacturing of ceramic masses that are resistant to highly corrosive environments and have mechanical strength, heat resistance and high dielectric properties.
• Additive in grinding of silicate materials in the production of porcelain, faience, earthenware and majolica mass.
• Increases strength, water resistance and heat resistance of ceramic masses.
• Increases a grade of finished products.

Textile industry:

• Ethyl silicate-28 as an additive-modifier provides strength increasing of cotton yarn, non-shrinking finishing and imparts dirt-repellent properties to wool fabrics.
• Reduces shrinkage of rugs and make them resistant to dust and decay.
• Dehydrated leather tanning compositions component.
• As the impregnation of filter fabrics.
• Component of protective impregnation for work wear.

Glass manufacturing:

• Modifying additive Ethylsilicate-28 imparts the glass hydrophobic effects, mechanical and chemical resistance, light scattering.
• Improves the appearance, protects the glass surface from corrosion.
• Ingredient for glass, mirrors, crystal cleaning agents.
• The treated surface acquires a steady shine, dirt is easily removed from it, visibility is improved.
